I've never heard of this route before but it looks fantastic - what kind of bike were you riding? Do you think it would be suitable for a CX/Gravel bike? I might give this a go if so

Such a fantastic race. Having seen endless drivers get chewed up and spat out by the red bull machine I feel so warm and fuzzy about gasly getting the win, I think it's thoroughly deserved given how well he's been driving this year. Also love seeing the guy lose his shit again like he did after Brazil last year.

I'm a big McLaren fan so I'd have loved to see Sainz win, but McLaren coming 2nd and 4th on merit is huge.

I'm by no means a Hamilton fan but I agree, he's nowhere near as bad as Schumi (although Schumi was apparently the loveliest guy off-track). To be honest I think he's improved a lot throughout his Merc years, as a younger driver I thought he was an absolute diva who was a shit sport, he'd often sulk if things didn't go his way and there was that weird period where he kept crashing into Massa for no reason. Nowadays he's much fairer and more self-aware out of the car which I have to respect.

I also think that (some slightly sketchy Instagram posts aside) he's doing a really good job of using his platform to spread awareness of racial inequality, particularly in F1 which is a ridiculously white sport.

I'm sure you're being sensible, but I'd treat carbon dust like I'd treat asbestos. It's really, really nasty stuff. A good way to stop dust getting into the air is to wet sand - if you're doing it dry and there's dust in the air you 100% need some kind of extraction.

Beautiful paintjob, but I'm also worried about how thoroughly painted the threads of the BB look... You normally mask all that off for a good reason

Lovely frame - but how are you running a singlespeed tensioner if the mech hanger has snapped off? It does look like it's attached to a mech hanger so I'm a bit confused..

My contribution to this thread. My beloved old crappy GT Palomar that I'm running fixed with an eno hub. Nothing fast or fancy but it was great fun building a wheelset for the first time, and this thing rolls like a tank.

Part of me would love to get a disc mount brazed on the rear, but I don't really want any encouragement to go back to gears as this thing feels special as it is

In some ways I don't hate this as much as the standard topstone. It's so batshit that it kinda reminds me of their weird wonky looking 90s MTBs. The standard topstone is just unforgivably ugly.

Argos in Bristol will do it if you supply the tab, hub, brake caliper, and rotor (all for alignment purposes presumably). Not sure if they're open at the moment.

He seems to be a very competent engineer, but he seems to expect a lot of consumer/mass produced recreational sports gear. And quite why he's so obsessed with shitting on other businesses I don't know. Massive ego? Cripplingly low self-esteem? Sure, he's trying to run his own business, but calling everyone else an incompetent cunt while proclaiming that you're the second coming of BBesus doesn't exactly scream of honesty.

I'm not sure if he's a chartered engineer or not, but if he is I'm sure whichever institute he's with wouldn't be too happy to have him setting such a shitty example.

Tl;Dr: he's not necessarily wrong. Just a massive asshole.

I don't know if that's the case - I sent @SpankySpanglah the money on Thursday and haven't heard anything since. They seem like a good seller so I'm sure there's an innocent explanation, but I've not heard anything from them.
