Any friction shifter will do, they're not speed specific. Old 7 speed downtube shifters ought to be pretty cheap on ebay if that's what you want. Very nice frame btw

I made it from some nylon off an old back pack and some sticky velcro from the store.

Broke a decrepit leather toe strap with my unimaginable leg power (rookie dismount fuckup), cooked this up a minute ago. It's like the Velcro sandwich of a hold fast strap for old cages.
