I have made some progress on a variety of things, but nothing crazy. I have some cool bicycle things planned, including a breakaway minivelo for a friend (and forumenger). Ive been mountain biking a lot and negotiating with French bureaucracy. All the things you've heard are true, nothing gets done, i don't miss the rainy island but the UK does get the bureaucracy right at least.
Ive also made some knives, small kitchen knives and a few simple folding knives.

Does anyone have a solution for a fully bricked di2 rear mech? Its fairly old, but nothing untoward has happened to it. It just packed up one day and has not started again, no amount of fiddling has fixed it.
Ive tried all the obvious di2 things, but it does not shift and does not show up on the etube. Its not any other components as i have other di2 mechs that work fine with the same groupset.

I also put the 90mm stem back on the mtb and its incredible how much difference a shorter stem makes to traction. I know this isnt news to anyone but mtbing is new to me. Especially round here where there's a lot of loose rocky climbs. So im definitely convinced of short stems on mtbs and will probably built a 60ish mm stem to test.

Ive been enjoying the stems recently, made another one today, for my road bike. I dug out the stem i built when i built the frame and put it on. I like the way it looks but im not really into the single blot clamping anymore, so i built another stem with a double bolt steerer clamp, and did a four bolt faceplate. Very happy with it, i think it came out very cool, i will just slot the steerer tube then put it on the bike and see how it looks.

They're not perfect but I'm fairly happy, I quite like the folding knife. It's a design I stole loosely from an existing popular knife called a svord peasant. Really simple and fairly easy to make.
