I've got the earlier version of Empire with the plastic bit in the RD and in the shifters that should be metal and was changed to metal. Did an early YouTube vid about it that got a bunch of views.
Haven't used it much so it hasn't gone bang, but the FD broke my hanger because its nose didn't extend down far enough to go past the end of the slot in the hanger, bit fucken shit.
Got another hanger (not easy for front) and made a spacer to go between.
It's pretty incredible value, but rough edges, which I gather have mostly been fixed (dunno about the FD though), but the main annoyance is large shifter throw. Could be a real contender in future generations, I love how they ripped off Shimano's actuation and SRAM's escapement and combined the two to give you a single lever for braking and shifting (although bumping the right lever easily puts the bike in a taller gear, which can be a problem).
Anyway, I'd say it's not there yet, until lever throw is reduced and the FD doesn't break your bike.

BITD I had a couple of 7s Shimano bikes rocking 8s Ergos (the first one was my first brifted bike), with the Campy RD. Third Shimergo bike I've had since '99, 7700 with a Shiftmate.
Only drama I've had was the third bike; the 9s rear lever had some overshift built in by way of a little float between the lever body and the spring cage, which was causing the chain to catch the next cog. I can't understand why the same thing wouldn't have happened minus the Shiftmate and Shimano RD and cassette - it's really strange if you think about it... Anyway, stuck a couple of ziptie offcuts in the shifter and it felt just like the 8s, except the relative crispness of 9s. I love the way G-spring Ergos feel on a Shimano drivetrain.
Been trying to get hold of a 10s index ring for that shifter for ages : (

As a hydraulic service technician, I'd say that since Magura uses oil, there's no reason why those nifty little quick couplers wouldn't work in a Shimano system, except compatibility with the hose dimensions might be a headache.
Tell you what though, that's bound to catch on... And shops could upsell them with a service given they'd make future servicing cheaper.
