If it wasn't for the crap tape job, I'd be in half a mind to say maybe folks are starting to feel like what's the point when road bikes keep looking more and more like MTBs; maybe they've crossed a line with the discs and the 34 cogs and the fugly cranks and RDs...

For some reason, Mavic hubs were 11s compatible before 11s was a thing - they'd come standard with a spacer on there.
Bit weird, jumping the gun like that; dunno why you'd intentionally add unnecessary dish for several years. I went to a fair bit of trouble to go the other way on a RS80 wheelset - fitted a 7s cassette body and bumped up the OLD to 132, and machined a slice off the back of a billet 10s cassette.
Not that the wheel really needed to be any stronger for my weight, it was more just to illustrate how lazy Shimano was in establishing all those spacing dimensions, let alone Mavic. I was able to add a couple of turns of NDS tension, so the wheel could have been designed even lighter around my dimensions... Dish is clearly a design compromise, dunno why you wouldn't want to minimise it.

With the brown tinge on those Campy rings and the faint hint of brown in the epoxy of the rims, it all ties in with the gold paint beautifully.
If you can make all the colours on your bike by changing brightness and saturation on the one hue, I'd say you're onto a winner.
I would like to see it on some dark gumwalls, like Conti did in the 80s and 90s, and briefly did again a few years back on a special edition of the GP4000, sadly 23mm only...
That colour sidewall somehow adds a badarse flavour IMO, like hardox rims on a 70s bike. Such a bummer Conti didn't bring back those gumwalls for good.

I feel like there wasn't anyone in the 70s who saw all that drillium and panto going on, who decided to make parts so light that nobody would dare to go the hack on them...
