Have managed to remove (without caustic, amazingly) a BB named ‘YST Corp’ which appears to have the same chamfered inner faces to the locknuts
The inside faces of the frame’s bb also appear gently chamfered as well
Does anyone know if a Mavic bb replacement would work, or, given the threads look quite worn (as the whole thing seemed to have been bodge-secured with a huge washer thing), should / could a threadless replacement be best? -

The transition, from here, to where things fall apart, is another thread? Other than the Pre-1950’s bike page or retrobike lol
Is there a pre-retiring / just retired / not ready mentally / body-not-ready thread?
A grumparents thread?
The so-fucken-bliss-happy-biekGrandParents-thread?
I mean, I’m feeling faded but teeny-tiny grandkids on balance-machines et. al. must be a thing for others on here? -

Tyre popping off the rim question here
Happened twice now
First time I thought it was the cheapo tyre, so binned that and changed to Schwalbe ones, new tube, new rim tape
Happened again, tube and tyre seem fine
No apparent distortion to the rim wall, clincher edge seems uniform around the inner wall
Rims are Weinmann 27x1 1/4, probably 1970’s-era, tyres at a modest 55/60psi
Any ideas? I’m stumped :( -

Arghhh, why won’t the brake caliper return?
Campag Centaur skeleton
New return spring fitted (the old one broke)
Stripped, cleaned, refitted
New cable
New cable outer
Taken the whole cockpit back on the bars with new tape
Nothing, literally nothing fixes the caliper sticking after the lever is pulled
Pretty close to taking a hammer to all the things
Have I missed anything? -

Ha ha, good spot!
It was also a lovely karma f&f (such an amazing fillet-based thing, think it’s a Welsh builder from the 70’s / 80’s?) that I’ve a nice full grey Xenon groupset to build up for a small family person (is a size 50/52), planned for next year :)
