Waited at some lights in the City with a hi-viz Brompton rider blasting out "Land of Hope and Glory" on a boom box.

They don't have public carriage licenses or The Knowledge but can somehow still deliver tourists to the correct destination in the West End, thereby confusing and frustrating cab drivers.

Two brown trouser moments this morning on narrow, car-lined residential streets. Both times oncoming drivers drifted offline and only looked up from their mobiles at the last moment to avoid me. Much that I'd love to bemoan modern attention spans, this is reality now so don't be like me and put your life in the hands of the idiots: make eye contact (and be prepared to bail out).

Agreed. It did seem to be an odd race though, Richardson's winning breakaway looked almost accidental and he seemed absolutely knackered on that last ascent of Michaelgate. As you say, very hard to tell from highlights.

Just watched the Eurosport Lincoln GP highlights. What a weird race. Looks like all the hitters shredded themselves in two attempted early breaks, but so did the rest of the pros chasing them. Didn't see Arlen at all in the highlights but my guess is he surfed the wheels in the first half, didn't give up when the race splintered and caught back on when the peloton sat up with 25km to go. No evidence of doping imo.

I know that would be too big for me, I wouldn't want to go higher than 88gi there as I'd rather spin on the straight than grind the hill. Tbh I wimped out of riding fixed when I saw the wind forecast.

Yeah the wind was pretty unforgiving up the hill, one of my clubmates said his normalised power was same as last week but he went 1.5 minutes slower.

Only 2 of us riding fixed tonight. Despite the weather it wasn't full up so should be space next week. Apparently there's also gonna be 40 spaces available first-come, first-served online.

I think he made the right choice in letting the Tories self-destruct over Brexit, throwing himself under the (£350m) bus wouldn't have served any purpose and leaves Labour in a stronger position now. I concede "pro-Brexit" is a stretch though I'm still to be convinced that he cares much either way.

Agreed, I'm still not sure why he is so pro-Brexit, it definitely seems to go beyond simply trying to appeal to those in the party/country who voted leave.

However his sentiment in that speach is spot-on: immigration has been good for the UK and using it to deflect away from complicated issues such as housing and employment rights is just a cheap race to the bottom that poisons proper debate.
