i've run across an xtr di2 groupset for super cheap and was thinking about putting it on my currently stripped to the frame traildonkey, which has a normal road braze-on fd. i am aware that the shimano mtb fd don't have an off the shelf way to mount to a road fd mount, but is anyone aware of a solution?

i just slid out going rather carefully down a paved hill on challenge strade bianche 36mm htlr at 50psi and although i already knew this i would like to note for the record that these tires have terrible wet grip. maybe pressure was a bit high but i was barely turning in a wide sweeper, doing about 22mph and front wheel went out and i now have much less skin on my left side.

i've dropped my bike against a wall which popped the top plastic bit which has the button on it from my r8070 shifter. etube still recognizes the shifter but the pce02 thingy gives error codes for both the buttons. the connections to the top button look ok, as does the cable to the connectors, so i assume it has tugged on the connections at the button. of course the lbs said they couldn't do anything, but has anyone here successfully repaired one of these? the shifter is otherwise fine and it seems like a waste to just toss it.

appropriate thread
but what about the spirit of gravel?
had forgotten about the article written by colin mention in the new yorker. a bit cringe.
also he just seems like such a colossal dickwad. i don't understand how you can be in your 30s and still think treating people like that is ok. would have been a lot more sensible if she'd shot him not mo.

i mean sort of. he has good endurance but he is not particularly strong power or power/weight wise.
also that descent post is total nonsense. i've done the lakemont descent 75 times and am listed as second overall on strava. no way he was going 58mph. kom is 50 avg w/ a peak of 61mph. tiger descent is similar. kom is not quite 40mph. both held by absolute legends who were probably super-tucked on aero bikes in skinsuits with ripping tailwinds. there is a light at the top of the lakemont descent which heavily determines entry speed, and the tiger descent is quite pedaly, only around 5.5% avg with a corner you have to brake in at the top if you are going at any speed (certainly anywhere the speed he claims).
maybe he means to imply that is his top speed on the descents but w/ gps speed that is entirely untrustworthy and i don't believe him. traffic, wind, etc. make this comparison useless.

ha. yea that'd be a hack. hella battery life too. would mean the auto-trim wouldn't work though.
