Max has been at the vet since Thursday morning. The daft cunt vet injected him with paracetamol instead of sedative before his ultrasound. He's been on meds / recovering since at the hospital getting bloods throughout. He comes home tomorrow thankfully. How much of a cunt should I be to the vet? I initially was understanding about mistakes happening but it's been 3 nights now where he's probably traumatised with who knows what long terms effects.

Thru axle hub end caps. How do I stop these falling off all the time? Giant stock wheels every time I take the wheel out to put it in the car the caps always fall off. Today was the first time I managed to ride without one of them in placevby mistake..can't think of this happening with any other wheels tbh so not sure if a feature or a flaw..

@jdp I would! Easy to fit and picked them up reasonably cheap. 37mm wide for 32mm tyres.
Was looking at the Kinesis fend off guards as an alternative but the temptation of an easy fit was too strong. Didn't have to bodge anything other than a longer fork mount bracket to bring it closer to the tyre.

First big ride on the new to me Giant contend. Ebay bargain I picked up in Norwich. Love it, but don't love it enough to clean it after today. Full guards with long flaps, still covered in shit.
Giant rgx bike specific guards rattled loose just once, need to tighten everything up. Minimal swearing involved to fit them mercifully. Bring on more winter cold crispy days!

Tor Divide was great. If it runs next year do recommend. Met lots of sound bike people. Pizza & Pints at the end created a little social and as it was a figure of 8 lots of people made it a social weekend. I however carried on and pushed through the evening after an extended stop and several cups of kickback coffee.
Was glad to have brought the mtb as was knackered at the end. Cutgate was amazing descending in the morning though and did feel for the gravel bikers but plenty made it round overall quicker than I managed. Didn't take a single picture but grabbed below from trail pal and 6am finisher Andrei's insta.

Need help identifying these cranks. Came on tandem and embarrassingly not quite sure how to remove. Assuming that little cap needs to come off but seemingly no hex key unlocks..
Also need advice on adjusting this eccentric BB. Loosened bolts underneath the BB shell but not wanting to budge. Figured might need to take cranks off to adjust which is probs wrong but worth knowing how to remove them regardless.
edit, excuse the massive pics! Seems the cranks are specialized but still no further as to how to remove..
Edit**. Solved it. Needle nose pliers in the dust cap and twist.
BB it turns out you just use the crank against a chunky hex key in one of the holes and that does the trick.
Should probably invest in a pin spanner I guess.

Glad we kept all the brakes! Managed to hobble them somewhat with all the late night fettling due to late deliveries. Ended up taking an age.
Replaced bars, brakes, cables, grips & saddle for the stoker.
Bars, stem, tape, cables & saddle for myself up front.Shakedown ride was however a success inspire of the poor braking. A relatively flat road / canal cruise had us ticking along effortlessly and comfortably. Just need some new tyres and were set. Definitely leaning towards the 35mm contact plus. Put on the 32mm gp5000s and was wincing at some of the canal rougher sections..

@Skülly Yeah 4 brakes seemed a lot to me also! We've already established early on after a slight miscommunication that the only circumstances they should be applied is when directly instructed or if the pilot has gone awol. Recabling will be a chore, a good excuse to invest in that 3rd hand tool though.
@ough noted about the touring bar width! My traps were howling yesterday though using the 46cm bars - not sure if it was the width, shape or just being so tense on them in all honesty. Will try these Nitto bars , hoping I can get the brake levers flatish as I have with all my other modern bikes.

It is lovely. We managed a little jaunt yesterday on it and already identified a few issues from a comfort perspective! Only managed to have one incident on a roundabout with a dozy driver...
Stoker wants a flat bar for easy access to the brakes (which from my understanding are really only for descending / emergency situations) as she doesn't like drop bar / hoods. Glad I've now got 3 x cantilever brakes to mess around with...
I'll also need some narrower bars, previous owner was seemingly a giant. The Cinelli Giro Italia bars that are fitted are lovely though which is a shame.
Tyres, will try and squeeze some 32mm, debating putting on some relatively new Gp5000's but might be prudent to go for something abit more robust. Recommendations welcome!
Comically my frame pump is also too small to fit on the top tube.

Arkose is the perfect bike. My humble arkose in it's current road guise. I think the only stock part is the shifters (which require slight braking to shift) and the frame.
Reminiscing with a pal yesterday about @Netakure coming through with the staff purchase for me. Best value ever.

Good/not £££ bean storage?? Opened a fresh bag today and just hits different everytime.
Currently yeeting 500g into the hopper everytime into my sage grinder. Would like to give a small chance of recreating that first hit on the regular. Figured some proper storage and adding beans as and when required would be a good place to start.

Do we have a consensus on a tubeless 30-32mm road tyre that doesn't cost £££ and is ok for winter usage?
Almost got those cinturato velo's discussed above but couldn't bring myself to spend that amount.
Is road tubeless a fools errand? Would I be better getting decent clinchers that dont require summoning the power of grayskull to remove them from the rims when out on the road?

Orgiva is lovely. Only stopped a night whilst on tour but would definitely love to spend a winter cycling round the alpujurras or down to the coast.
