Yeah I'm going to be there, shame i don't have a track bike but at least i can enjoy the drinks.
It'll be good to get a crowd from here to see @andyp take the win

Thanks @BareNecessities I was going to post this at some point... Calvert who's one of the Norwich lads has set this up and has worked hard to get various sponsors on board so it will be a great event!
Check out @ norwichgrasstrack on IG if you're interested

Good actually, the seatpost was slipping a lot to start with but a shim and carbon paste has fixed that. I like the geometry and it's responsive when I put more watts down. In terms of a race frame, I would recommend as it's replaceable.. The build above is 7.4kg too which could be improved on. I've had a few issues with disc brakes recently so it's a nice change

I mean the 5-2 sounds lovely and my friends and family would love that. It was a decent read thanks for sharing, i like his idea with the aerobic training block and setting challenges. He mentioned a 600km ride, I've been thinking about a 500km ride for a while now...
There's obviously limitations with the comparison to a professional athlete. Time being the biggest one, the max i could ride around a working day is 4 hours. With that comes a lot of control with the normal life, for me that's someone else at home who takes full responsibility of my lovely pets.
“With great aerobic power comes a great anaerobic responsibility”
He's right. I've really felt the benefit of a year of aerobic riding and doing some recent anaerobic work (probably 2 workouts as I'm now very lazy) has felt very comfortable.

I think this is the right thread, I've lived locally to Peddars way for years but never got round to doing it but on Saturday i planned a full day out.
Definitely no gravel but more mud, fields and floods. It was a good laugh and there was some hike a bike where i planned a walk onto the coast path before Thornham. I'd fully recommend if anyone wants a tough day out. I wouldn't recommend 33mm tyres and forgetting spare brake pads though ...

I did a big dirt ride yesterday, my skills off road are lacking so it's good to build this. I definitely lose speed off road compared to more experienced riders, this was apparent when i did Further East. The only issue is that swapping from road and off road on one bike takes a lot of bike maintenance...
The job thing is a lot of stress as i have a lot of responsibility now (i didn't say it for a boast but more of the tiredness of what's it has created)
@frank9755 I've got the transpyrenees in June which will be fun, a lot of climbing and big days in the saddle. It's 15 weeks away but I was able to up my volume over the last 2 weeks e.g around 15hours. I did a 10.5hour ride yesterday which was extremely fun

Hello,
So my girlfriend turned to me and said she wants to do some more adventure style cycling and to explore the off road routes.
What have people got in terms of a gravel bike for sale, budget is from 1k up to maybe 1.5k. It's something she will commute on aswell so nothing too fancy as she's got a decent road bike.
Just get an Akrose??
Thanks,

I've got a decent ride planned this Saturday, a bit of an off road thing on 33mm tyres so lets see how hard it is. Essentially I need to stop feeling guilty about not training and find a rhythm with riding again as I still really enjoy it. I do beat myself up for not riding which is something I'm dealing with internally.
On the last week of this challenge, I got a big promotion at work which has taken a while to adjust to as it's very senior and I've now got a lot of responsibility

I've has some nice time like this with friends and family. I got drunk once, that was an experience as I haven't been hungover in a very long time.
I led a ride on Saturday for ASCND, where i brought together 16 riders from Norwich all for mental health. This was very rewarding actually, as there were some great conversations on the ride and everyone seemed to get a lot of enjoyment from it.

Hey, thanks for checking in.
I'm definitely struggling without the daily goal and getting back into a riding routine is harder than i imagined. During the challenge i imagined i would come out of it excited to see the fitness gains i have made and what i could do but that's really not motivating me.
This challenge is my biggest achievement so the "what's next" is something that's hard to know. What I'm enjoying is riding with others though

Hi all, so I've had a bit of a break from cycling and social media . Throughout the challenge it's been so full on that a little bit of time for me has been welcome.
I'm getting back into training this week and it's not been the easiest actually. I thought I'd be excited to start pushing myself again but actually I'm just tired. Previously people have mentioned that i would feel lost once the challenge was over and they were right, the days that i have a plan are fine but the ones which I don't are pretty tough.
Also the amount of volume that I was doing has twisted my idea of cycling. I feel like a good week is a minimum of 15 hours

@cliveo yes i did, I should of tapered instead of having a solid 4 days off. I felt very odd this week physically, my hr has been all over the place and I've had a tight chest (not covid). This week coming I'll ride more but I'll still be flexible as I've got evening plans with friends.
I have missed riding my bike
I can't believe your selling this, at £1800 that's an absolute steal. What's the bb to saddle height?
