I’ve literally put 12000 miles on mine without any massive hassles. Tbh, just check them regularly and follow the maintenance schedule. They can be serviced quite easily, if I can do it most folk can!

Ck hubs are well built for sure. I’m just put off by their cost and their spares prices and availability.

Yep, the gel one, it’s a bit like a Flite but with a very slightly broader nose. Works well for shorter rides. I tend to run it about 3mm forward of my usual saddle.

Compared to my circa 2012 zip 303s (no longer with us as the brake track died after 33000 ish km) I got some token 45mm wheels. Very quick but a bit twitchy in crosswinds, totally manageable though. Braking (rim brakes) is nice and progressive. Hubs are free spinning(better than the hope ones I had on the 303s), but I’m only 4 months into owning them…

Also tried some of those plates that push way back (think up to 25 mm extra)…. They were fantastically comfy but I could never produce decent power in them and they also inhibited getting out of the saddle. Literally felt really unbalanced.

Shimano, the mid range ones I use Rc7 are able to go back 12mm further than my old sidi’s. More comfortable and half the price. It’s the first pair where I’ve not actually pulled the cleats all the way back, which is a first for me.
