What about a plate that picks up all three bosses with an extra hole that you can nut and bolt the rack strut to? That would be spreading the weight of the rack through all three bosses on each side.

If you have enough spare length, cut one wire slightly shorter so you stagger the joins. When you put the larger piece of heat shrink over the two joins you’ll end up with a little less of a lump in the wire.

I wonder if the reason there are so many vintage lugged frames that are still going strong and haven’t rusted away to nothing is because the entirety of each tube is a breather hole at the BB lug, zero chance of any moisture puddling in any of the tubes.

The thing with flex stems are that the shorter they are, the less ‘travel’ you get!

If you wanted to do a cheapish carbon SS build, an early Cadex would work, they have replaceable dropouts both sides on the rear, so it’s easy to carve some horizontal ones from a sheet of alloy and bolt them on.

If you look for an old DMR bolt FS frame, they pivot around the BB so you can run Singlespeed without any tensioner.
