Would like to TRADE/SELL this Ridley track frame.
I bought it on ebay as it was near my parents and reasonably priced, thought it would be a fun fixed gear project. Was told it was a 55cm frame - only a few months later when building it up did I realise it's actually 46.5cm.
Its actual dimensions:
Seat post 46.5cm CTC, 48cm CTT
Top tube is 55.5cm CTC
Headtube is 8.5cm
Takes a 27.2mm seatpost
Takes 700c wheels
Drop outs are 120mmComes with:
Royce bottom bracket - turns smoothly, but beaten up see pic, someone's had a go at removal and failed. Still feels pretty snug (but I've not ridden it)
Giant branded CF80 carbon fork - cut for this frame, so short steerer; one inch diameter
Giant EXT PRO stem.
Headset is new (I replaced it), M Part Comp Threadless 1" (£17 off ebay)Weight: Frame plus forks, plus headset, stem & BB: 2.70Kg
Cannot find an example of it on-line, guessing it's a fairly early version of the Ridley track frame?
It's an aluminium frame, paintwork is chipped in places, pretty bad in some spots, see photos.
PLEASE NOTE: There's two holes in the chainstays - I think these are just venting holes from when it was welded, please see photo. Someone has tried covering it in the past, could just be taped up or bodged up in some way. I assume these are safe and not signs of catastrophic corrosion (seem too regular), but do let me know if you think the thing should just be scrapped, I am not a metallurgist.
WHAT AM I AFTER? I'd love any frame with a threadless steerer, 55-59cm, ideally. Whattya got?
WHERE AM I? I live in South Cambs, pretty much locked down. So might be able to meet, but I do have a box for it so could post.
WHO AM I? Long-time reader, few posts. I've bought a couple of bits over the years. Like building up single speeds or geared bikes for little money, then give them away.
