Sounds great. If the offer is accepted then it should be pretty smooth up here.
Good luck hanging onto @gillies wheel!

Hillhead, Hyndland, Woodlands, Dowanhill, Kelvinbridge, Kelvinside for West End. Annielsand and Jordanhill are too far away, especially with kids and Glasgow weather if the cold/rain bothers you. Fine by bike though. Both my girlfriend and I work at the University (although I'm at the Garscube site) and my daughter is at school in the West End. If we were living in any of the areas in that first list we'd basically never need to use the car, that's a massive plus for me.
School catchment areas matter a lot too if that's a consideration you need to make. If so Hillhead and Hyndland in the West End and Shawlands Academy on the south side seem to be the catchments to look at for secondary schools. Secondary ones are much bigger than primary ones.
Lots of turn over on 2 beds at the moment, I'm currently looking for a 3 bed. Should easily get something for £260k.
In terms of most for your money, if you're looking at 2 bedrooms then you get a bit more on the Southside. 3 beds and the prices in the West End seem very similar to the Southside.

Hike-a-bike section around Ben Lomond, other than that it's pretty much all rideable. Bike-wise it's up to you, HT would be more than enough, rigid would beat you up a bit and FS would maybe be a bit too much if it was over 120-130mm.
For the hike-abike bit get some foam pipe cladding that fits your top tube and carry it in your bag.

I run two brakes at all times so it's a skill I really should learn, I'm just worried I'll end up taking lumps out of my shins and then crashing...
@gillies think I'd be banned from club runs for that!

Cheers fella, hoping they caught my sprint on camera! I got announced over the tannoy which was nice. Full Siempre kit out too:
My Dad was riding his first sportive, he did the 80km and finished much quicker than he thought he would. He's now considering the 120km route next year but it involves a lot more climbing on steeper roads so we'll see.

Managed it, having cramps in your quads and your hamstrings at the same time is an interesting experience! As always when doing long distances on fixed, it was the downhills that were the worst part.
Managed to take the finishing sprint of the bunch I came in with too which was great fun. I could tell one of the guys was really wanting to go for it, so I sat on his wheel and used him as a lead out :)
Didn't know you could ride there! Going to take a look one day.
