Sorry to not get back to you @Olarry, I’ve been out of the UK for the last 18 months. I’d prefer to sell locally for a quick sale (but you’re probably not interested as this reply is 6 months late!)

Sorry for the late reply @matteroftaste. The seatpost+clamp are fine. I adjusted it after fitting the saddle and never had a problem since. It’s just an ugly, oversized bolt that I never bothered changing as it’s just cosmetic. The paint is chipped around the clamp which adds to its ugliness (charm?)

A bike with history! A classic ex-velodrome bike from the legendary Herne Hill Velodrome in South London. Originally built by Cliff Shrubb in the 70’s for the Inner-London Education Authority (ILEA badge on the seat tube) and refurbished by Harry O Rowland in the 80’s. Found by yours truly in a 2016 classifieds listing, upgraded and ridden casually for a year.
This is a great little bike and I’m only selling it as I’m no longer in London and a friend has kindly been storing it. But its time is sadly up!
The frame alone, without a fork is selling at Seabass for £175, so this seems like a bargain to me.
I’m currently in the USA selling remotely so unsure on the details, but approximately the setup is:
Frame
Cliff Shrubb Vitus Plain Gauge Track Frame 54cm (I believe) with original paint and sticker. There is surface rust (it is 40+ years old after all) but structurally sound I believe.Wheels
Hand-built Harry O original front wheel Mavic MA2 rim. Solid as.
No-name flip/flop rear currently fixed.Drivetrain
Original crank 🇬🇧
Izumi Chain 🇯🇵
Miche cog 🇮🇹Brakes
Tektro brake (bought new)
Don’t remember what lever…Hands
Original (I believe) or at least period-correct “vintage” with original (I believe) drop bar.Feet
Restrap pedal straps.
Unsure of pedals, but I think decent newish ones.Butt
Supercorsa-ish saddle in weird foam. Pretty comfy and unlikely to be stolen.Another Herne Hill refurbished with more info: https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/harry-o-herne-hill-rat-biek-ilea-16649

@onyerbike @Shroom Pretty sure it’s this model. Apparently it’s bulletproof… who knew!

@Shroom is picking it up for a trip next week, but get in touch with them and feel free to assume temporary custody afterward!
Got a photo now too:

Anyone want to borrow a hard shell bike case for 1–3 months? My (very kind) ex-housemates have been storing it at their flat while I’ve been away.
Rather than start to pay for storage, I figure someone here might actually get some use out of it.
I’m not in the country so no photo (don’t remember the brand), but it’s high quality and should fit most road bikes (1200x800x?)
ASAP pickup Higbury N51SH
(Reposted here in the correct forum!)
