Why cant we be safe on the roads? Lack of safety and plenty of gamble with life on the road is what stopped me riding. And I only went out for a ride once.

I bought myself a nice bike, went out on it one sunny day. Rode very sensibly. Couldnt have been a nuisance to traffic on that 5 min ride, on a quiet road. Then I had a very near miss with a hatchback. The driver decided to turn right, even though I was clearly visibly almost at the junction already. And even though it was my right of way. Glad I had a front brake and stopped right on time. Otherwise the driver wouldve wiped me out.

Why can we not be safe? I always loved bikes as a child. Thought I can pick it up again. But now with responsibilities, I just cannot justify taking the risk. Makes me really sad seeing how much activity goes on in this Riders Down Section. I mean is there nobody from the authorities looking at this? This website highlights just how dangerous it really is out there. One life lost is not acceptable. There should be no acceptable number of deaths per year! And are bike manufacturers/sellers/shops etc lobbying making safer roads? It would be a good investment of time and money for them since if anything towards better safety actually happens then there will be more people cycling and buying cylcing goods.

Sorry to moan. But this is why there are hoards of cycling wannabes like me.

Respect to all of you guys who ride regularly. I definitely will be a friend on the road in my car and will drive sensibly and be considerate of you riders.

Both used only once, superb condition I could weep letting them go. Usual scrubs, sugino writing on left crank due to riding it ONCE in jeans and peddle contact from look keos.

Quite sad to post this up. Bought this beast and rode it once, literally. Quite shameful I know.

Great condition, pretty much brand spanking new. Lived on a table in my flat along with its components friends, nicely displayed but as I said only used once.

Frame is size 52. Fork has been cleanly cut, it protrudes 35.5mm from the columbus headset. Comes with an integrated seat post. Very clean. No dings, scratches etc.

Again, bought it for riding but just ended up using it to see if its actually rain proof. And it is! Its kept me dry except on my chest and tummy as I couldnt zip it up at all, me girth was too strong haha 😆 Fabric in great condition, although somehow I got a bit of windscreen liquid on the back, when I've stashed it in the boot once. Will probs wash out, see in pics. Only used this over 6 or 7 occasions. Please see piccies! I paid £155.99 for it so will put it on super sale for a mere £100.00 Bargain Id say!
