It's not a waste at all in the grand scheme of things, consider all the lights you have had that got water damaged, that you never replaced the batteries in, that got nicked, that cracked, that you lost, that the fitting broke on ect. In the last four months I have gone through 3 sets of shitty lights, edging on four now - thats waste. We are talking about a couple of grams of plastic here. About as wasteful as the disposable toothbrush you own.

The best bicycle lights ever... and I can no longer find em, anywhere :( :( :( I have asked the guys over on the 'lights' post but nobody seems to know. I'm really trying to find somebody who knows anything about these!
I was in Holland a year or two ago and unwittingly bought a set of 'cable tie mechanism' rubber one piece bicycle lights. ~amazing~ once they go on they never come off until you snip them off and put them in the bin - no replaceable batteries, waterproof, really minimalistic form and impossible to take off without a knife or scissors - snap on and forget! Really cheap and pretty bright too with none of the traditional problems associated with lights; getting lost/stolen/dropped/cracked/wet/and with odd batteries that you never replace - I will be so sad if they are no longer made.
Can somebody please tell me where to buy theses type of lights again! I will be very greatfull!

I'm of the impression that bicycle lights are a pain in the ass, they get lost/stolen/dropped/cracked/wet/and with odd batteries that you never replace - personally I constantly find myself replacing them. Until...

[But these disposable lights sound bad for the environment - well in all the time I owned them (over a year) I never had to additional new ones]

Cheers man! Really helpfull stuff from that thread "How to fuck up a good frame. The manual." hah - yeah I may have to reconsider. My frame is definitely not a cromovelato and my intuition is telling me to leave it alone and deal with it when I have money and time to do a full on restorium maximum. thanks to all the other users who replied also.

I have a question for you folk if I may; I have an old italian road bike frame (casati) upon which the paintwork is a shot. I can leave well enough alone and ignore (purist option) but I have another idea.
See attached pic/below for ref - the chrome elements on the frame seem to run under the painted bits and I can see (what looks like) chromed metal through some of the chips in the paint....
Is there a chrome baby under all this shot paintwork? and if so could I paint-strip back to a chrome frame underneath? or am I simply wrong about all this and the chromed bits are only in certain places.
I think I'm posting in the right place now
