Cold, little rainy. Fitted a new chainring last night, bringing me up from 44x19 to 48x19. Faster and not too bad on the wee climb on the way in.

Got carved up by a full gear roadie hitting the pavement, and an attempted wheelsuck by a guy on a foldy bike. Anyone else notice that if you're wearing a dress, guys on bikes want to speed past you as fast as possible?

A friend of mine has asked me to build me a bike - she wants a step through frame, derailleur gears and 700c wheels but I can't find anything suitable . Are there any companies that do 'female-specific' frame/frame and forks?

Rode in on my road bike this morning after riding fixed for the last week - little bit of knee pain, probably due to a bike fit issue. Freewheeling feels like the bike is broken! Amazed how quickly my brain has gotten used to it. Not amazed how much my body hasn't quite got used to it yet.

Also just the right temperature today :-). Nom/10

It lives! Got a chain on it last night. Rode her to work today, was wet but fun. Been a long time since I've ridden fixed, it's gonna be a learning curve but in excited!

It's my birthday! First ride into work on my Bambi Bike - chucking it down, and my first proper ride on a fixed gear in a while. Didn't die, made it up all of the hills, fantastic. 9.9/10

Bump, backed out from wheel buying as got given one.

Finally started putting this together, it's my first build, with a rat frame kindly donated by @keanulooser and a rear wheel from @gstratton.

Was initially going to have bullhorns but I struggled to get brake levers for it. I'm on a super low budget so most parts have been kindly donated or picked up from the local bike project and friends.

From here the plan is to match the frame to the saddle and gradually upgrade to more solid parts. Right now I just need some rim tape and to put together a chain and it's good to go :-)

On the bus again due to stuck cassette woes. -9000/10

When I'm on long rides, I send my location via Whatsapp whenever I rest to my SO (she worries). Works to within a few metres and doesn't drain battery too badly.

Ooh, now there's an idea. Would reverse rotafix work with a freewheel cassette too? would I need a wrench + cassette tool in the opposite direction?

Left the house, new chain but made the rookie error of not replacing the worn cassette (tried it with a chain whip and wrench last night, but it's gonna be a vice job). No power as skipping. Circled round, put the bike back in the kitchen and got the bus. I hate buses. 0/10.

Got held up behind a motorbike who decided to squeeze into a foot wide cycle lane. I know it's got 2 wheels dude, but get outta ma lane! Annoyed/10

Keeping an eye on the for sale bit, but looking for a basic 700c fixed/free or fixed/fixed wheelset. Preferably black, preferably tough as I'm a bigger girl. What have you got!

Still reeling here as regards Prince. His first performance on American Bandstand (http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/this-performance-by-a-21-year-old-prince-proves-he-was-1683260364) in 1980 is something that sticks in my mind. He's this nervous kid, eyes at the floor all stuttering and awkward then he kills it with his performance.

That's what I got from him - he showed me that you can be. Whoever you are, whatever your gender and sexuality. Just own it. Proper icon and hella underrated guitarist. Rest in Purple.
