Restrap bumper bar is never in stock. Does anyone make anything similar? My handlebar bag usually compresses cables to the extent that gear changing is awkward. Or maybe I can just try running the cables behind the bars/headset? Hmm.

Well. This is where it gets funny. They recommended him to us - I've seen the work he did for them, and it looked good (albeit I did not closely inspect). Not sure why it's gone so badly wrong in our case.

Well, locks were changed today. Went out briefly afterwards and when I came back saw builder's van parked on the street, but he immediately drove off. Thought he might have been dropping off the keys, but nope. Hopefully he wasn't looking to do anything nefarious - early evening is not peak time for criminal activity, plus he does have a plausible reason to be in the area as he is working on another house close by.

I've taken comprehensive photo/video of the crappy, unfinished work. Am I ok to start putting it right, or should I try and find another fitter to assess/quote for trying to fix things? I did ring a few people earlier in the week, but surprisingly no-one was interested in trying to fix a botched job.

Outing myself as a lover of expensive paint, but earthborn clay paint is lovely. Don't even need to stir it, one coat will cover anything. It is wipeable only in the sense that dabbing at a mark on the wall will also remove the paint.

No, everything arrived well before he started. We weren't happy with the state of the walls so there was a delay of a few days while he got the plasterer back in and the plaster dried, but apart from that it's mostly the fact that he seems to be pretty bad at his job. He's been working on other projects too, so has only been showing up sporadically. Initially I was taking photos of daily progress, but I gave that up as it dragged on. Wish I'd stuck with it, now.

18 months, wow! Hopefully it's been worth it + congrats on being on the home stretch!!

Changing the locks today. The whole thing just feels horrible.

Another day, another dispute with a tradesman.

The guy who was doing our kitchen has done a poor job + it has taken him six weeks to do a straight kitchen swap (and it's still only like 65% done) + he has said he's not going to finish the job, but he wants to be paid the full amount. He has become quite aggressive and is refusing to give back our keys.

I honestly don't think I'm ever going to hire anyone to do anything again. :(

Ta. It's not for a socket, but for a pir sensor which causes rainwater to splash against the house. Or maybe I should just get my gutters fixed.

What are these socket hats called/what do I google to find them??

    Thanks! They look great.

Mine are a slightly more impractical 15mm. They look lovely, but would have to train the family to use a single finger when opening doors. Perhaps not sensible.
