I bought this to save it from the scrapheap and to renovate, but am unlikely to do so in the immediate future. So offering in case anyone wants to buy it ‘as is’ and renovate it themselves.
I understand the 531 CS frame ('Club Sports' - a tubeset with 531 main tubes and 501 fork legs) is not common, neither are the quirky Modolo cantilever brakes.
I believe it to be original and complete, with:
Stronglight chainset
Suntour friction shifters
Simplex SX630 rear derailleur
6 speed freewheel
Rigida 700C rims
Lyotard quill pedals
GB handlebarsCollection from Finsbury Park, London N4 or I could deliver within a reasonable distance for the cost of the petrol.
Asking price £85.

In remarkable condition for its age and, I believe, completely original. Frame number KD07229.
I have stripped, cleaned and regreased as appropriate (hub axles, brakes, derailleurs, pedals, cassette) and replaced rim tape, tubes, tyres, stainless steel brake cables, stainless steel gear cables, chain.
The frame has a number of significant chips and damage to the decals from a clumsily fitted bottle cage and lights. There is one small patch of corrosion on the downtube, but most of the frame shines in the original brilliant red.

A sound bike that could be used as is, once brakes/gears are adjusted and lubricated (good tyres and tubes; bearings run smoothly; seat post and handlebar stem move freely). But, given the significant amount of cosmetic rust and peeling paint, it is also a good candidate for restoration. It is too small for me and I have too many project bikes - so it's for sale for £60. DM me if interested.
