You possibly caused the cunt to decide to leave, so the best outcome was achieved. If you had got your phone out to take photos etc, he might of acted differently, definitely if he was already threatening you with a potential knife.
You could always check to see if there was CCTV covering the area, and notify whoever, but as he didn't take the bike, probably not a lot can be done.

Tyre got raped by a pothole, so a rather defeated subway journey with the bike to work at 6:30am

one extremely bouncy mtb with the seat slammed(??) and the riders legs spinning ten to the dozen slap bang in the middle of the cycle lane, but overall not bad. Extremely quiet.
