  I stumbled across this thread a few weeks ago. My granfather, Albert Ashby, was a member of the Calleva road club in the 1940s. Sadly he died in the mid 1970's, so I didn't get the chance to know him. My mother recalls many stories of his cycling exploits, but has very little in the way of photographs, etc. She did manage to find these two photos though. One is of a club dinner which she guesses must date from the late 1940's or early 50s. The other picture probably taken at the same event shows my grandfather pictured in the centre.

  I am also a very keen time triallist like my grandfather....it must be in the genes!

  My Dad was in the Calleva road club and friends with Albert Ashley... I remember visiting him in the early 1970's when I was very young. I have some old photos of my Dad's from those days if anyone is interested... and would love to hear from anyone that has photo's that include my Dad (Lesley Dunster).
