  Thanks Jonny! really interesting points you've made I'll have a look at that site though I've looked a lot at the Bates history I'm wondering if there's more explanation of it's more simple use of the nervex's. I knew they custom made them for people too. I thought it was a nice & light frame regardless, just thought it was almost as if somebody has re-sprayed & used decals on the E.G Bates badges.

  I got from a clearance where i guy used to build racing bikes professionally, it's a strange one isn't it. It is a nice frame, not sure what to do with it, whether to start over or build it up..

  Trying to work out whether this is an original E.G Bates frame..
  I'm wondering if somebody had re-sprayed the frame & used E.G Bates Decals... the nervex lugs look legitimate but those aren't to uncommon anyway. It is a nice low road/racing frame..

  I have an old E.G Bates frame, it looks like its from the late 50's or early 60's to what I can see. It's currently for sell if anybody is interested.

  I'm wondering now though, (here's a spanner in the works) if somebody had re-sprayed the frame & used E.G Bates Decals... the nervex lugs look legitimate but those aren't to uncommon anyway. It is a nice low road/racing frame..
