So decided to go for bikeclub option as Hopeacedemy have allocated all theirs for the time being. A Frog52 was delivered earlier this week. It's actually quite a nice little bike and comes with mudguards and a spare set of (knobbly) Kenda tyres.
Very impressed with how simple this was to set up and the time scale to delivery was impressive. One very happy daughter.
It's half term next week, so we'll see if she can get the balance point and take off into the distance and hopefully a lifetime of enjoyment. It would be so easy to be pushy, but softly softly to begin with. Kicking myself for not ordered the 48 as this seems slightly too big, but I think she is at the just between stage. If I need to swap for smaller it looks like there is a small charge of £15. We'll see how we go next week. Planning on chucking my Brompton in the boot in case she's a natural and we'll go exploring.

Think it's time to try and get my 6 year old daughter into cycling. I was considering splashing out on an Isla bike (but what if it sits in the garage unused?)....
Then I found this lease scheme.

Looks pretty reasonable and if they outgrow the bike it can be exchanged for a larger size.
Frog 52 for £10.45 on a 6 month contract sounds pretty good to me. If it doesn't get used over winter, cancel the contract and start again spring 2019.
Anyone on here have an experience of this service? Almost sound too good to be true.

Brilliant! Love this (and your blog).
Cycling to work can really be life changing. Great for stress relief after or bad day at work (or a bad morning getting the family up and out the house). You can't really put a price on this, so the financial saving are an added bonus.
I find running my commuter fixed saves on maintenance time and cost if you can find the magic gear and your route isn't too hilly. Conti gator skins work for me and I find they roll better than the marathon plus.
However the savings on other forms of transportation are offset by a bad habit of buying expensive clobber I don't need.
