I had to go from Paddington to Shepherd's Bush yesterday afternoon. The traffic was so heavy there were times I got off the bike and pushed it down the pavement. By the time I got over the roundabout to the market, I had developed a cough from all the buses. Edgware road was good fun though.
The back-streets are the best way from Paddington when Holland Park Av is choca. And I never go via Shepherds Bush green any more. Addison road is where you want to be turning. Quiet, empty roads.

Along the cycle highway going through Tavistock, was amazed to see an old guy just join from the pavement into the highway without looking. Went right into/alongside a girl already in that space. Luckily she reacted as there wasn't any oncoming traffic.
Did enjoy all the 4x4's driving around west London today. Impatiently trying to squeeze through gaps not made for 4x4's.

FYI2 - anyone wanting pickup in the Shoreditch/Liverpool St area might have to wait until Thursday. Am cycling to work (damn tube strikes) and not sure I can lug some of the parts on the bike.

I'm starting to get ready to move, and the flat is currently full of bikes and more notable bike parts I no longer need. Being hassled a bit by the gf, so I'm clearing them out...

1) SOLD - Kore Road Elite Anatomic Handlebars 42cm - (little use) £8
2) SOLD - Genesis Croix De Fer Handlebars 42cm - (well used) £5
3) SOLD - Shimano Deore Chainset (x2). One is fairly well used, 172.5mm cranks, 26/36/46T. The other virtually new, 175mm cranks 24/36/48T (I think). I've got x2 Deore bottom bracket cups (1 brand new, the other lightly used). And 1x XT bottom bracket cup. The lot for £35.
4) SOLD - Genesis Stem 10cm - (moderate use) £3
5) SOLD - Deda Elementi Zero1 Road Stem 12cm - (unused) £5
6) SOLD - Lizard skin lock-on mtb grips - (unused) £5
7) SOLD - Nukeproof headset. In fine working order. Done about 300 miles. Little bit gunked up with linseed oil (from lining my frame) but just needs a clean - £10
8) SOLD - Genesis Croix De Fer saddle - (moderate use) £4
9) SOLD - Surly LHT forks. 22.3cm on the steerer tube. I had about 2.5cm worth of spacers on my frame before the headset to give an idea. The gloss has faded on some parts of the fork, but it's in perfect working order - £15
10) Shimano 105 9sp 11-28T cassette. Done about 400 miles. Still in good condition, just needs a clean - £8
I'll chuck in the v-brake noodles (with adjuster) or inline jagwire adjusters for free with any purchase.
11) SOLD - I also have 3x Continental Gatorskin 25C tyres. 1 is brand new unused. 2nd has done about 300 miles and third about 500 miles - £20 for all 3.

Am tempted by the 38 jacket (or possibly 40 depending on the fit). Any pics of the jackets?

The Tarptent Moment is very good. I sold mine a while back as I wasn't using it. But it weighs sub 1kg. 900g I think, and takes about 60 seconds to put up. Can handle strong winds and cold temps though. Just make sure you have a decent down sleeping bag. A decent amount of space and you can easily change and sit up inside it. The only thing it suffers from (being a single skin) is misting, so you get drops of moisture on you in the night.
The Gelert Solo at £25 is great value but tiny. Good for wild/stealth camping, but not so good if you need a bit of space. It's very cramped for getting changed inside. Made worse if it's raining. And not easy to cook from within.

Used for about 3 months but changed to another set of bars

4) One left Deore crank, 172.5mm. Used once or twice in very good condition - £3
5) Shimano Deore 9sp Shadow rear mech M592. Mounted but never used - £15
6) Travel Agents BR030. Used with a set of v-brakes and Campagnolo shifters. Perfect condition £20 for both.
7) Token Track Stem, 31.8mm, 10cm - £10
Used for about 3 months, in excellent condition.
8) Campagnolo skewers. 2 front, 2 rear. In very good condition although missing the nut on the other end - £5 each

12) Terra Nova Tarp Shelter 1 (2.5m x 1.5m, 200g-ish) with 4 (possibly) titanium (or at least aluminium) lightweight pegs and guy lines all hooked up on it. In very good condition - £25
