I have a set of 9 speed sora shifters that I'm to use to a build a bike, and they have been a massive pain from the get go, first I didn't have cable stops, then the cassette on my wheel was 7 speed. Someone told me that 7, 8 and 9 speed free hubs were the same length and I could just get a 9 speed cassette, but alas I know have a 9 speed cassette my freehub is not big enough for it.
I was wandering if I could just only put 7 gears on and not shift into the highest ones? I don't want my bike to be very nice necessarily, just functional by the end of march for as little money as possible.

Hey guy's I'm selling a Campagnolo Nuovo Record Front Derailleur for £30 good condition. I think it's from the 70s though I'm not sure how to date it. If you want more photos than the ones I have provided just let me know and I am happy to oblige. I am based near euston in London so meeting somewhere in central London for the sale would be preferable.

Surely it's fairly obvious to everyone that jumping red lights is dangerous, even if you think there are no cars within a file mile radius does not mean that there aren't you can never be too careful. Although laws are often dumb, there is usually a reason or logic behind them and I think that everyone can agree that cars running red lights is a definite no no, so double standards should not be applied. I appreciate that when a cyclists runs a red light he's pretty much always risking his life rather than other peoples but you are effecting other people. If a guy hits you and kills you he could regardless of whether he was driving safely be convicted and put in prison which would suck big donkey balls. So no don't do it.
