^Please don't take this the wrong way but is that a joke? That has to be one of the worst Cannondale builds I have ever seen.
Every single part on that could be better, from the wheels, the crank, cables, seatpost, frame etc, how did you manage to spend 5k on that?

Money doesn't go far nowadays, but to give you some kind of idea, as to the cost of things, here's a brief costing list:
Respray (frame & wheels, 2Pak) + Custom stickers = £600
Forks (Brand new old stock) = £700
XT (Black) Groupset (Brand new) £1200
Carbon fibre parts (Brand new) £300
Fox RP23 Kashima shock (Brand new) £350
Jekyll swingarm & V600 Front Triangle £150
Titanium bolts, washers & other parts (Brand new) £200
Bassano Grimeca Magnesium Wheels £1200
Garmin Edge 800 Satnav £300Total approx £5000
It's actually a little over the 5k mark but hey,
The wheel's are ultra rare, infact I've not ever seen another disk brake set on any bike, including this thread. The last offer I had for the wheels was £2,100.
The photo doesn't do the paintwork justice but it's a new chrome paint over satin black (Shadow Chrome) & 2Pak paint is tougher than crappy old powder coating.Gorgeous ain't it Jay ;-) Get ya piggy bank open, it's up for sale soon!

I certainly believe you have ‘blown’ a lot, it can end up being a very expensive hobby after a good days trolling, through site after site, only to find that the item you really need is now out of stock.
It takes a long time to properly investigate everything, like the CPC (Cheap Powder Coating) option.
I can’t tell you how pleased with the quality of my frame, you definitely get what you pay for.
Car spraying companies want £500+ just to spray a hard tail & forks, where as I have had forks, front triangle, 2x swing arms, 2x wheels & 2 sets of stickers for £600, pretty dam good deal, hell yeah.
Sure, if you want skimp on the paintworks & cover up dents, cracks & famous metal filler, go right ahead & spend all of a tenner, it’ll look quite special, in the dark. One super thick gloopy covering of mess is not what I had envisaged for this Cannondale & I’m so glad I opted for the best. I’ve seen countless ‘top notch’ bikes totally ruined by a bad paint job.
I agree, the wheels are not adequate for heavy XC riding but they are not only light, true & smooth, they are rare, and rare means ‘loads a money’!. On a serious note, I wanted wheels that were in keeping with the age of the frame & also the Moto FR 120 forks, they are all manufactured between 1995 & 1998.
Thanks very much for the advice, it’s always great to have help promoting my items that are for sale.
Is your Cannondale project, a Super V by any chance? I do hope we get to see your spectacular creation once it’s completed?
Break it for parts? Hmmm have you seen a few items here that you would like for yourself? But yes it may well get broken down but that’s cool & then on to the next project. I personally don’t think that 5k is a lot of money for a bike nowadays but I suppose £50 is a lot to someone that is skint.
