Hmmm, not what I wanted to hear. Hopefully they will be better now. I won't be fitting them until summer unless I apply some extensive waterproofing to the insides (which probably won't happen).
BTW, I mentioned the chainring above. I have what I thought was a standard singlespeed - should that really have a 54T chainring? If so, what does the taller geared one have??

Looks nice! I seem to be heading in a similar direction. I have the raw lacquer frame, to which I've added the Brompfication bits. I also added the seat clamp, which has eaten my hand three times already :(
I've fitted gold Jagwire outers, Weaponised gold jockeys, KCNC chainring bolts, Tioga Spider Twintail saddle, Spank gold grips and the same titanium seatpost... oh, and a gold bell (I do ride in London)
Looking to change the chainring as it's a bit bigger than my legs, and also looking at the bronze Bikefun chain tensioner.
I have some NisNas wooden 'fenders' to fit too, which I picked up cheap.
Wondering if I'm going too far... but who cares!

I'm a Charge Spoon fan too - I have one on the road bike and a special edition (with lairy green detail) on the hardtail mountain bike. I did think that if I didn't get on with the Tioga on the Brompton that I'd put a Spoon on it... maybe one day.
You should do the gold outers as they really complement the braising (sp)... just sayin'

Hmmm, maybe, but I was just looking at the weight saving - the Tioga is nearly half a pound less than the stock saddle.
Having said I hadn't noticed a saddle mentioned previously, I just went back to page one - d'oh!
Oh, can I recommend gold Jagwire outers for your cables? They look deeply cool with that frame - I have them on mine :o)

I'm being a noob and, although I have read all of the thread over a few days, I can't remember any saddle talk. If you want to save a goodly amount of weight over the standard Brompton offering, try one of THESE. I was sceptical at first, but have been riding one for a couple of months now and it's actually quite comfortable. Granted, I only ride 8 miles a day, but that should be enough. Some other saddles I've tried have made my arse hurt in 5 minutes (yes, I'm talking to you Boardman road bike saddle!).
Excellent thead BTW - a gem for a new Brompton owner who likes to faff. I have the Brompfication hinge clips and seat post clamps and have another few ideas in mind....
"According to the scales last night, 11.14kg"
I'm surprised. Mine is 10.1kg at the mo'. I'm running Kojaks and dinky lights, but I've still got original mudguards, chain guard and even the rear reflector (yes, I know it's got to go).
I know I'm being little anal (but not too much) about this, but mine is SO MUCH easier to carry about than my two colleague's standard M types...
BTW, my height stop on the seat post is lightweight insulating tape :o) I just read the instructions for that really expensive thing on the tat bazaar and improvised - works a treat.
