It's a 11-speed cassette. Shifts fine. When backpedaling on the lowest gear, the chain may drop to a next largest sprocket though. Could be a problem when riding technical off-road (which is not going to happen with this bike).
There has also been rumours that the largest sprocket of Sunrace wide range cassettes are prone to bending but I'll worry about that when it happens.

Thanks!
The gearing is 42/11-42.
Now, some may wonder why not 2x11 for smaller steps between gears. For me, the mostly used cassette cogs are 15-21 (2 teeth jumps between gears). If you go to a gear calculator site (for example: http://ritzelrechner.de/ ) and regard, say, 46/30 with 11-36 cassette, you can see that there are equal steps between gears unless you use front derailleur to fine-tune your cadence, and I do not see much benefit there. Of course 30T small ring and 11-36 cassette would give a low gear of ≈23 gear inches, but currently I have no need for that.

Those DX Cross frames look terribly tall & short. I'm 191 cm and I would have to take size 64 and use 120 mm slammed stem (nothing wrong in that in theory, but I think 120 mm stem is a bit too long for a cross bike). Also, the standover height of that beast must be close to 90 cm (ouch).
(for comparison, my XL Inflite Al has 26 mm less stack and 10 mm more reach than the DX Cross and I would not describe it low&long)
