I've been building up and modifying my Genesis Croix De Fer 10 for the past 6 years.
The Sora groupset is now getting a bit tired and the rims have cracked (for the second time). Already started building up a new set of Ryde Andras, but then thought it might be time to build up a new bike. The frame was always a little too small, plus I've not been convinced that disc brakes work well without a thru axel.
The Fratello thru axel seems like the obvious upgrade. Even if you enjoy bike builds, is it crazy not to let Condor build it up?
Has anyone had experience selling old bikes complete versus for parts? Whats the best deal? I could strip the wheels, rack, lights, dynamo onto the new bike, then sell the old frame, brakes, other parts and groupset (though surprised if I'd get anything for it).
