Hi.
I have been looking for a used road bicycle and I keep looking at this forum classifieds, ebay and gumtree.
I noticed that on a gumtree, there are many bikes ad from someone named the cycle trader in Broxbourne. Their prices are usually good and so I wonder if they are legit (the problem with gumtree is that there is no way to find out). How to make sure that their bikes are not stolen?
Does anyone here have any experience with them?
Any special advice before contacting these people? Thanks!

Dear all.
I am new here, and I hope I am in the right forum. After I converted from walking to riding a bike, I have had a cheap hybrid for one year in London and now I would like to spend around £350 for a new one (I mean it doesn't need to be new, used would work too).
In any case, I would use it for daily commute of about 5 miles and for week-ends.On one side, I would like to have a light bike which I can carry upstairs on my flat and which would give me some speed, but on the other hand, I would like to ride my bike along the river which is usually not paved. In other words, I would like something like a road bike which can handle mud. I looked at the option of cyclocross, but they are usually too expansive for my budget.
Anyone has some advice?
