I'm considering getting my first fixie soon - currently ride a road bike - and the Fuji Classic track seems a solid choice. Just a shame Evans are the only retailer (other than Velodrome Shop who seem one to avoid) and only stock the black/yellow option. I'd be happy to go for the red or a previous year's colour scheme.
I bought a classic track from Evans about a month ago and I'm still a bit shocked at how much I enjoy riding fixed. The first couple of days were a bit odd but I already much prefer it to my road bike which would have been three times the price when new.
Other than changing the neon yellow tyres for gatorskins so far all I've changed is the saddle. The stock one was terrible, easily the worst I've ever sat on. I enjoy the bike enough that I'd be happy to spend a bit of money improving it and I'm curious as to a wheel upgrade. I've never purchased wheels before so I'm not sure how big the potential benefit is.
Would a set of the £144 V-sprint wheels be a noticeable improvement? It seems cheap for a wheelset but it's close to half of the cost of the bike.
