I too am new. Roadie at weekends and have commuted on hybrid but getting pain in wrist from grips.thinking of getting a drop handlebar single speed for commuting but don't know where to start....

I had a pie in the sky idea the other day. i was wondering if someone could make a minute gps chip that they put inside the frame. If it slid up and down on a wire, the motion could keep a battery charged. And then when the bike is stolen it could be tracked. Thieves could only get at it if they cut open the frame. The aim would be to install these on all new bikes. But I think I've seen too much James Bond...
