Any idea where Winston has gone, or what the name of his new company might be?

I would like to thank Charles, Sol, Ana, and Dashti for their modelling work last Monday. If anyone is thinking of recruiting models on LFGSS for their cycling project, I can recommend it. They were friendly, professional, and had unusually good cycling skills. Ana's track-stands put me to shame. :-)

Thanks folks, it was a great session.

We need one more foolhardy and photogenic lady for tomorrow's photo-shoot. If you can manage a ride from Liverpool St to Look Mum No Hands in E8, do join us!

I know it's short notice but we're looking for some cycling models for Monday morning. There's coffee, cake, and fifty quid for a couple of hours for those who are interested. We've got a few lads but need some gals. All the details are over in General.

    Thanks,

    Barry

At The Bonkers Bicycle Bag Company Limited we would love to get a few riders together for a photoshoot with our new bicycle bag. The shoot is on Monday 4th starting at 10am. The plan is to meet in central London, and to take the train and Tube to the new Look Mum No Hands at 125–127 Mare St, London E8 3RH taking photos on the way. After some cake and coffee, we would ride back to central London and take a few more photos enroute.

We want to do lots of photos for our website on the road/train/Tube, so you would need to sign a modelling release form. Pay is GBP50 per person plus cake and coffee, and it would probably take 3-4 hours depending on the weather and how long we hang around.

We're looking for up to four real cyclists, two boys and two girls, any age, dressed in whatever you would normally cycle around London in. Fixed or geared, road or MTB. Clean bikes would be nice!

If you're interested please send a photo of you and your bike to barry at bonkers.cc. I know it's short notice but if we could get it together on Monday it would be fun.

    Many thanks,

    Barry

How did you find the Italian drivers?[/QUOTE

I have very fond memories of cycling in the countryside around Siena in the early 1990's. Ascending a steep hill, I got the shock of my life when a passing truck sounded his horn. Being from London, I assumed he was homicidal, but after the same thing happened a few more times I realized it was a local form of encouragement. In Tuscany, they love cycling.

The best tip I can offer is to avoid the "white top" loose gravel lanes that criss-cross the countryside. They are very slow going, and the heat reflects off the stone. Not a good place to puncture, either. Tried that.

Warm weather, great food, strong coffee, and plenty of tifosi out on their bikes to share a ride. You'll have a great time.
