Just had confirmation from auction house. I was expecting all sorts of charges to be deducted from my total but not so. The total deductions from my 4 lots were a paltry £28.38 which is an amazing deal. More money in my pocket... When I dropped the whisky at the auction house their eyes lit up telling me they had at least two clients looking for that particular bottle, so that probably helped

My whisky auction is now over, Macallan sold for £2605 which I'm happy with, Auchantoshan for £60 and thought it would have done a little more, SMWS went for £61 which is as expected

Seems to be the choice of the investor at the moment. The Macallan's now at £2300, that should buy a nice amount of bike kit

So much for all the lowball offers I had for my bottle of Macallan Gran Reserva. I decided to put it along with the other bottles of malts into an auction, so far the Macallan has reached its £2k reserve, just hoping there are a few more bids before the auction ends.

Cycle past the Glengoyne distillery regularly, they do an hours guided tour which finishes in the shop ;-)

Not a bad return for the £67 I paid for it back in 2004/2005ish

Thanks, not seen that a site before. It's a Macallan Gran Reserva 1982, the rarest of the Gran Reserva range (apparently)

They are offering me around 55% of what it sells for, I don't mind them making a profit but I'm not going to be lining their pockets for little work after me carefully looking after the bottle for the last 15 years.
