Someone bans you.
David! during previous e-mail exchanges between us, you seemed a reasonable sort of fella, your comment above however marks you out as an overly precious grade one tosser!!!
Actually that's a bunch of bull. People may put a dibs in a thread to let them know that they're communicating with the seller and attempting to make a purchase, but what is very well established is that something is only sold when the seller has accepted payment from someone, and that the seller may accept (or refuse) payment from anyone they choose.
Agreed! I'd never come across the expression 'dibs followed by pm' before viewing the vast majority of ads on THIS SITE, it's a convention that is very well used, 'bull' is most certainly isn't!
Dibs is worthless, it just fills a gap in a bit of software that doesn't show who the interested parties are.
**a) though it does prevent others from wasting their time expressing an interest in an item which has already been 'spoken for and,
b) if the practice is so worthless, you're the admin, why not simply ban it?
**
The correct order is: cash-on-delivery, bank transfer, PayPal (not gifted), PM promise (by seller, not buyer).?? where did this 'David directive' come from, the back of a fag packet you just wrote on ??
Dibs isn't even on the list, dibs isn't even part of the process... it's just a very polite way of showing that there is a queue of interested parties, and means nothing beyond that.
**Balls mate!! why if that's the case do interested parties state specifically 1st 2nd 3rd dibs etc?? **
The seller can sell to whomever he chooses, though purposefully permitting gazumping will get a scolding on the third or fourth occasion.
A 'scolding' ......... easy tiger!!
Seriously though, wind your neck back in.
......................... only if you refrain from peddling nonsense.

That's not what I'm saying and you know it. It's a signal of what someone's general attitude towards the forum is - whether one is interested in being part of a knowledge-sharing community or just picking up good deals, which I see as fairly parasitic behaviour. I note that ALL of your posts are in for sale threads...
Excellent, since it's all about you, maybe put it to the group founder to get rid of the classified section entirely just so that he can hold lfgss steadfast to YOUR utopian knowledge sharing ideal, yes??

^^ Again let me quote you the rules.
And if you're referring to the vast majority of classified ads here, I'd wager that they also state in the OP
And yeah it's a cheap wheel-set, luckily I have plenty of wheels already, so no interest here, beyond seeing a newbie who needs to wind his neck in
Ohhhhhhh, I'm sorry, I didn't realise I was in the presence of some self appointed grand master of lfgss???? go suck an egg..!!......

Ha!
Wind your neck in.Can you show me anywhere in the rules where it says about dibs?
http://www.lfgss.com/post694751-18.htmlAnd I'd maybe hang around here a bit more before you start judging the mood of the forum
Feel free to look up any definition of etiquette fella, first one I came to:
.......a code of behavior that delineates expectations for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_behavior, or group
now refer to the vast majority of classified ads on THIS group and it's dibs, pm and payment, in THAT order, you clearly feel 'special' (guess what, I'm inclined to agree!) in some way and went about securing your purchase another way, like I said well done.....'special' boy!!
Listen my friend, the wheels are yestedays issue, we are now on a point of principle........
