I'm happy to see a humber project on here. I just finished restoring a humber sport, I was very tempted flip the north roads and make it a bit more of a sporty bike, but didn't in the end. It is interesting to see with your build what sort of thing would have happened if I had done this. I will take a picture and post it on here if you like.

Linseed oil sounds awesome. I have never tried it but have heard good things, there are two sorts, one boiled and one not... cant remember what sort is best. Anyway what I can vouch for is this: Simoniz SIM0010A 150g Simoniz Original Carnauba Wax: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike

I put 2 coats on my bikes slightly rusty patina and it repels water nicely.

beware of linseed brother, works but brings hazards, lots of hand washing and linny rags will BURN by themselves, Simoniz is good from new tin but really just turns dirty, old type turtle wax (paste stuff) always served me well but now hard to find. and this bike will be crap to ride. follow your dream.

Lynchy, idea from an old cheapskate- find an old cog in the box, get a clever mate to trim it on a lathe and you will have a nice smooth [rustable, season it with oil and flame] collar.

I had drilled a hole in my Nitto handle bar for a brake cable. I've cycled with it for over a year, but it gave up yesterday when I was climbing the slope from the basement where my bike was stalled. Fortunately, I did not fall.

I'd dissuade anyone from drilling holes in handle bars....

Glad you didnt get hurt M1, Drilled STEMS are common, Ive drilled a couple myself and sometimes sheet ally is drilled to STOP a crack, but we live and learn.

I dont care about the squabbles, I'm sure they make you happy. Got my room booked 200 yards? metres from Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. Will do my best to bring a special picture, what do you want in it?

give up you stupid piece of shit[/QUO

If you are using combo brake/gear levers its easy to have the lever out of line, zero everything first. leave it till tomorrow. have a tinnie.

Just a poor idea not uncommon. that frame looks like my MBK, just the same prob, use proper small dia outer and live with it, I'm working on an improvement, result about June I expect.

Nice but dont seem good engineering wise, and how do they get the chrome on then paint on a brazed part? chrome a big bit then mask?

I regard money spent on so called cycle lanes up here in Nottm as money down the drain. Even the N6 is mostly unrideable. Just get out there and claim your space. BUT please lets prove ourselves better roadusers than the dickheads found everywhere. did anyone see the snowbound Audi tweeted from the M4?
