hold on a minute, how do you get 29" wheelz, in a 26" case?

29'' broadly refers to the outside diameter of the infllated tyre. The rim diameter is around 622mm or 24.5''. So even with a deflated tyre on, it may fit into a 26'' case. The picture shows it is a tight fit.

The one I had was ISO

I had a TA guy on the phone a few months ago who confirmed the current Axixx BB is ISO.

    Point taken.
The famous Mavic R-Sys. Compressed carbon spokes which spontaneously explode in the presence of aliens (or something like that).

I was thinking more along the lines of home assembled using reliable or known (at least to yourself) components. If you have a reasonable number of steel spokes (ie 20-24+) tensioned reasonably equally to well within the limits of the hub/rim, and assuming you are using a standard spoke pattern, then I would think the wheel won't collapse without warning.
Then again, maybe I just need to think that to get on my bike...

Hmmm, you've got a point. Surely wheels do not fail suddenly and catastrophically, even home built carbon tubs.
    Anyone?

Just had a look at apollo's pic again: what's to worry about aside from the matchstick cranks and chainring?
