  Indeed, it's worse going the other way what with left-hooks from all traffic except buses, but at least riders will not be going as fast up the hill.

  People complain about the 'powers that be', but he has a name and it's 'Boris Johnson'.

  Female rider being attended by ambulance on descent from Angel southbound, appears to be at junction where one-way bends round to the right. Clear accident black spot due to cars changing lanes.

  Paramedics have defib out but rider appears to be conscious.

  Hope she is okay.

  Police currently (18:00) on corner of kingsland rd and St. Paul's rd. on the northbound kerb towards Dalston Kingsland handing out fines for no lights and turning left round the corner (northbound) on a red.

  I'm sure that once they've finished solving these crimes they'll be fining drivers on mobiles too.

  Well spotted Helly, although that article is incorrect, it was not a hire bike.

  I heard from the rider this morning shortly after he came round, so the injuries must have been substantial if not critical, I hope.

  Junction of Wilmot Street / Bethnal Green Road, rider hit by car turning right into Wilmot Street.

  I waited while ambulance attended, definite injuries to ribs, shoulder and ankle. Possibly more serious to neck.

  Driver arrested. Rider conscious, in good spirits, but a lot of pain.

  RIP. Again.

  Can we have a debate -- like they are in Paris -- about banning oversize lorries from the city completely? Unload goods onto small vans for the final leg.

  But when we're in a climate in which this govt. want to INCREASE the speed limit for trucks to 'boost the economy', it's obviously never going to happen.

  Meantime, have to try and stay safe somehow.

  Tower Hamlets Council's 'Active Travel Officer' has told me that they can't draw any road design conclusions until they get the accident investigation report, but that they were already considering various proposals for Bethnal Green Rd, including cycle lanes - but only West of the Vallance Rd junction, i.e., not at this particular site.
