Since the trolley has already started to pass the points and there is no connecting rail from the outside rail the most likely scenario if you pull either of the levers is that the trolley will derail killing everyone on board, everyone tied to the tracks and you.

Write up of my LEL experience is on my blog. I completed within time limit but the southbound leg was very very tough, done with hardly any sleep and involved cycling through the night on Thursday. My hands are still weak and partially numb...

Bit late to the thread but I entered with a guaranteed place. I have a 2.30pm start time. Not done as many miles this year than in previous years (London Marathon kind of got in the way) but done a few 200+ rides and did 425km this weekend (301 Saturday and 124 Sunday both with 6amish starts). Kit is all sorted. It's gonna hurt lots I think but I'm OK with completing the event. I have a plan but expecting it to go to pot pretty quickly! Getting a little nervous with three weeks to go!!
