Just got some more Iceland colour negs back from that £2 a roll dev place off brick lane. One of the rolls came back with a scratch running the whole length of the neg gah!!

after a bit of climbing, shot on the XA (love the little thing)

yeah that is some serious leakage!

I never try new dev mixes on anything taken more than 20miles from home :p

all the portrait shots have posted too large, not quite sure how to rectify?

I would never do it normally! but i was really pressed for time and only had xtol and rodinal to hand. luckily it wasn't a disaster. that light leak was a result of me dropping the roll while taking it out of the camera.

If your using flickr you can choose what size you want when you copy the bbcode!

    ^ cool shots Gone.

@ Brickman quite like the washed out grainy look of the fp4 on mountains, I recently got a roll of fp4 expired 1990 from some junk shop, hopefully it's as usable as yours.

Went to Iceland recently, brought along the 6x4.5. This one from the top of some hill overlooking some sulphuric vents, light leak and all.

Film is foma 100, did a little experiment devved it in xtol 1:2 spiked with a touch of rodinal for the last 3 minutes. bit risky but it turned out alright.

^ All shot on an XA (bar one panny lx5 digital shot), only camera i could've shot one handed with! You can just about see a blurry XA in the wing mirror in the last photo.

I have a bunch more colour shots but they're not too sharp because i used Ektar 100, which definitely wasn't fast enough!

Been a looong while since last post, good stuff as usual everyone.

Really nice 4x5's Macready, whats your setup?

    Some random bits.

Unintentional triptych - only realised after developing the roll, hah.

Lith Print on "Kentmere Art Classic" paper, really nice paper too bad it's discontinued.

Also had a go at the new-ish 500px stories thing, collections of shots taken on the back of my uncle's moped:
    "Two Wheels in Hanoi"

Yeh those were taken at the tate modern. there was some performance art type thing going on in the main room when i went there.

Film is fp4 devved in d76, shot wide open on a canon fd 1.4 ssc.

^ been meaning to try that but its so expensive. I expect it'll be similar to the traditional look fp4 has which is really nice.

Dunno if this has been mentioned before but anyone tried modding their XA2 to do infrared flash photography?

I'm going to give it a go soon. Flash without the flash - Like what this guys done: http://www.kpraslowicz.com/2009/11/29/infrared-flash-photography-with-an-olympus-xa2/

colours get a bump in saturation so the image looks punchier, although sometimes you get weird colour casts in different lighting conditions. but that always seems to happen with ektar if the exposure is slightly off. defo not one for portraits at ISO 50.

^ pretty much what well said

there are a few ways of doing it. the easiest way is if your camera's got a meter just set it at 1/2 the ISO speed of the film for 1 stop overexposure. or 3/4 the ISO speed for 1/2 stop overexposure.

ektar 100 looks nice shot at 50 as well.
