  I am staying at the Mondrian on Park Avenue for four days, and I have Il Gattopardo for a work thing on night 1. Would love a solid pizza rec, a lunch rec, and two evening meal reccs. I will check Eater, but people here seem to always know good spots.

• Moving to Los Angeles - Anyone ridden much there?

  Yeah - people warned me that I would need a car, and whilst it is possible to be selective in where you live and not have one (two immediate examples - I did it in LF / SL for 9 months, and a friend in Venice has done it for over a year), but the moment I got one my world expanded hugely - not only with weekend trips, but with more local things like hikes in the San Gabriels, going to Topanga / Zuma / Malibu (all with or without a bike). I still walk to a lot of places, use metro bikes locally (very underrated), and bus and metro, but as a general rule of thumb, this takes 2 to 2.5 times the amount of time the car would, and you often might need to throw an Uber in to complete some part of the journey.

  I moved here in July last year, not knowing how to drive. That has since changed. Feel free to PM if you have questions / want to chat. I also live in Silver Lake, which I describe to Londoners as “effectively Broadway Market in LA”.

  Oh, and the road riding here is truly world class!

  Question for the hivemind - do any of you use any websites or apps to track the music you listen to in a systematic way (i.e. you can give a rating and it'll record the date on which you did so)? Effectively I'm looking for the musical equivalent of Goodreads. Google suggests last.fm and rateyourmusic.

  Depressingly the bike was stolen from my locked garage (where it was locked) within 12 hours of me buying it, so I can’t check.

  I think probably 32mm would probably be the max, and thanks for the reply - here’s hoping I get to find out, eventually!

  Hi all, I have recently moved to LA, and yesterday acquired a disc braked Cannondale Synapse for both road and gravel riding. My question for you all is: what are the "Mavic Aksiums" of the gravel world, so that I can just switch the wheels (to something cheap and replaceable) when I want some dirt? Any advice on tyres also welcomed! Thank!

  Hey, bit of a noob question, but can the portable monitor be plugged into a mains charger whilst also being used as a second screen. I realise you could just plug the laptop in, but I was wondering whether that might make it run hot...
