Hi Corduroy & hi all, apologies for the late reply, yes, the bike is now ready and on the road, with new wheels and tyres.

I will upload more images of the bike later on this evening. :)

    Hi All,

It's been a while since I last posted some updates, but back with some updates and more pics :)

The bike is coming up really clean and as expected.

Yesterday I taped the handlebars, it was the first time I every taped a handlebar, but overall came up really well also.

Still have some more progress to be done, any comments are welcome :)

    Thanks.

I also really like to use Autosol, it works wonders. Upload some pics of the progress when you have time :)

    Hi loctez,

Thanks for the comment, yes I am keeping it geared. I will be using the original rear and front derailleurs as they are still in good condition, but maaybe in the future I will change them.

Hi, great bike you've got there :), it is also very very similar to mine (see below link), mine is a Raleigh Team Europa 1979.

If I were you I would refurbish it but do not convert it to single speed. as Stu F said, just change the cables if they are worn out, and as for the brake calipers, just autosol them and they will come up nice and shiny. I would also remove the mud flaps and the bike will get a more sporty look.

A big no in my opinion. as edscoble said will make your bike look ugly.
