It all started a couple of months ago when after having been riding cheap and nasty fixies for a couple of years just to get around thrown together out of old/cheap parts this Guy here
invited me here
I look pretty bad ass right?on a trip from london to oxford riding fixed.
Tim being the stronger having ridden far more and having hardened his lungs through years of smoking and living in London, left me sat behind him for the majority of the way.
It did give me time to admire his Gios though and over the course of the day became very jealous of his ride.
Fortunately I had just started a new job and so deserved to treat myself right? Well not very many days later these arrived.
and "The Project had begun"
this was followed closely by the purchase of What was stickered up as a Clive Stuart Track/Sprint frame but according to Hilary stone and at least some of the helpful people on Classic Rendezvous it is most likely a Claud Butler from the 1950's and to me look's like the olympic sprint model.
Here's a picture and the frame number is 2421150 so you can tell me later that I've identified it wrongly and spent loads of time putting the wrong colours and transfers on it :P
After a few days of meticulous paint removal and a first coat of primer the frame could be stored safely.
I had been told by my brother i could use his HVLP paint gun so spent the next couple of weeks trying to track down a supplier for the colour of paint i wanted once i had decided on colour scheme and found a supplier trying to nail down my brother to use his paint gun was like trying to nail Jelly to a wall so gave up and went back to using rattle cans. Controversial. So the hunt for the closest colour to this i could find began.
Taken from the http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk Claud Butler Page.
Meanwhile i had ordered. a set of the Time Roc Atac Pedals to go with the Shimano SPD Shoes my Girlfriend bought me.
and a Campagnolo Bottom Bracket of a relatively reasonable Price.
I also managed to salvage a set of Raleigh drops from an old bike i had that i quite like the detailing of and a stem from a Peugeot that i found in a skip. Which i didn't get in progress photos off unfortunately.
Time to spray. I finished the priming and left it a few days to harden. Then prepped it the best i could for the main colour coat. Stupid Matt i mess up almost immediately.
Dodgy nozzle on the spray can. Fortunately i bought several more cans and all others worked fine, leaving me with a finish i was fairly happy with.
i left it a week to get nice and hard (oo er misses) then went ghetto with a gold oil pen to do the pin striping and i think it turned out quite well, but you'll be able to judge later. yet again forgot the photos :P
These turned up, Stolen someone else's photos
Then my Cinelli imitation cork tape showed up with my Brooks Team Pro Special saddle.
It was All Coming together, on went the transfers then the varnish. Plenty of drying time then Put the Bike together....
Then touched up the bits i inadvertently damaged while putting it together with the paint from the dodgy can from earlier:P Took the Brake off my old bike and we were done.
All in all not a perfect Build. But i Kept it within my budget of £450 and think it looks quite nice.

hope you enjoyed my journey, i enjoyed it but it was without a doubt an absolute ball ache and a lot more stress than you think would come with building up a bike as i'm sure a lot of you know. So Glad it's ready just in time for Autumn Winter ><

Cheers Tim, Yup What you can't see just out of shot is the chisel i used to remove all the paint and the hammer i used for undoing all the bolts.
Cheers Ernest, I thought it came out all right to for a rat can job
Hilly Ben, I think your right i can't imagine the amount of drop i would need on a brake caliper to reach a 27"
