Hi all, the Coast to Coast on a fixie ride was this weekend just gone. Dave completed the whole side to side but I missed 100 miles due to my knee quitting on me. The annoying thing was it was the flat bit it finally quit on.
3 good days, day 1 (Pembroke to Hereford) was the hardest with 190kms and 1400+m of climbing, day 2 (Hereford to Milton Keynes) was easier with 193km but only about 790+m of climbing, day 3 (Northampton to Great Yarmouth)I only did 50km but Dave did 205km. No punctures, no mechanicals, decent weather, not bad in all.
Worst bit for me was actually going downhill on fixed and I think that was what did the knee in, uphills and the flattish bits were good.
We have the gpx files should anyone else want to do any of the route.
Hi, Chris here, the other part of the duo doing the Coast to Coast ride and brother of the broken one, as Dave said, we are happy for people to join us and would welcome company for all or part of the ride. Once details of route etc are firmed up we will share them.
