My first fixed ride will be on Thursday when I get my brothers Charge Plug off him. Been riding my mountain bike in the closest gear ratio to the Plug for 2 weeks now and been getting myself into the pedal all the time mentality, so much so that I almost had an off when pedalling whilst leaning into a tight turn. The strangest thing for me is when standing up to pedal over an obstacle, it feels very weird and nothing at all like when I get out of the saddle for a steep hill.

You know if you used this some sod would come along and use his one to lift his bike to just under yours.

I have just bought one of these for the convenience of not having to carry a bag for my d lock and cable (also the d lock is so heavy it has crushed my lunch in my bag more than once). So far I am really happy with it, it feels solid though I would not leave it in a high risk area without the d lock as well but for quick stops and in lower risk areas it is quick and convenient and feels solidly built.

With regards to wearing it, it sits down on my hips where I have some natural padding so if I fell on it I would likely get some nasty bruising but fingers crossed no permanent damage. It is well padded and you quickly forget it is on (I sat down to dinner last night still wearing it).

Obviously it if gets rained on or touches dirty or greasy parts of your bike then it's not so nice to wear home but then if it is wet out I usually have a waterproof jacket and put it on over that to protect my clothes.

That's my 2 pence anyway but I am a noob so may not be noticing some obvious flaw.
