  Thanks FreeBornAde - I honestly did not know about the tubing which was why I took a close shot - will change the description.

  ALL - Will get framemsize confirmed on Monday when back in work. I'm 6 foot tall and its been ok maybe a touch small so I think perfect for someone 5'11...

  ps. I'm inquisitive is it very common to have "Dedacciai" tubing?

  You all have to bear with me as I'm not that bike savvy when it comes to components and terminology. Regardless, for sale is this Terry Dolan Cougar which I think is from the 1980's.

  I'm very reluctant to sell as I've had some real good times on this bike. Taken it up the Alps, cycled to Brighton, use it to commute from New Malden to London Bridge daily and always been able to keep up with all the guys on new Carbon frame racers. Reason for sale is just for cash flow purposes.

  I leave the bike in London Bridge (office car park) and will always be free on weekends for anyone to visit and have a closer look. Main selling points I would say:

  Campagnolo Titanium Shifters (9 Speed)
  Campagnolo Seat Post
  Campagnolo Record Gearing (18 Speed)
  Campagnolo Brakes (Chorus)
  Steel Frame - I have attached a close up pic, thought it was Reynolds now confirmed as Dedacciai Chromoly
  Crank Brothers Egg Beater Pedals
  Frame:

  Seat Tube - 51cm
  Top Tube - 57cm
  Down Tube - 60cm
  

  The bike still needs a fair bit of work which I was hoping to do but it became a costly project (frame needs to be restored and possibly the rear cassette changed as from time to time gears have slipped when pedalling although the bike was fine when I went up the Alps so I will most likely service and let whoever is interested have a test ride to assess themselves).

  I'm looking for £400 but can negotiate. Sale will include spare red bar tape (Bike Ribbon branding, made in Italy and half a bottle of White Lightning... lol)

  Will be very sad to see this bike go...

  Phew.. So I can rule that out too only the Peacemaker and Schindlehauer would have been left as expensive options. Guess the best thing to do would have been to build one myself (if I could).

  That bike is still in production (Fixie Peacemaker)?! - Seen it on youtube but think the vid was back in 2010 and the company I got my bike from told me they since went bankrupt (cheeky sods). Cheers for the advice Vinylvillan and Velocio - its my first fixie and yes it does make me smile (although I'm beginning to find out the specs are duff but noted it uses the same type of steel as the peacemaker double butted cromolly 4130 or whatever). As for wether I get value out of it - thats not an option mate. At that price I have to use it. Got a racer I could revert back to if fixed gear becomes a problem but may just sell the components to cover the cost of this project.

  pfft - 2011 model reduced from £850... :-( Not the one I wanted though... Think there are some discounted green 2010's but again didn't want that either.

  Looked at the District too but the model I wanted (2009) was sold out and since then they're hard to come by - think they had a mass product recall... Evans used to sell them. Plus the 2010 and later models had a price of c£900... Admittedly i don't know as much about frames as the guys on here so the advice is appreciated but I researched consumer (i.e. affordable) belt drives for some time and Schindlehauer for me looked by far the best (but too pricey) then the Trek until it disappeared of the face of the earth. The revised Trek models I didn't like the look of and as already mentioned seemed to get recalled... The £800 I paid is pricey but I never would have been competent enough to build my own. Fixie Inc made a nice belt drive Peacemaker but again that disappeared too.

  Yep... Paid £800... :-(. It was either this or the schindlehauer (another belt drive ghost bike that someone posted a pick of on here) but that was £1,300... Oh dear.

  Hi guys, I'm new to the community. Just ordered my first ever fixie. Really excited as I've been cycling to work (Tooting to London Brigde) for the past few years on a geared racer but will be switching to this... Hope the transition won't take too long or end up being too dangerous. What do you guys think of the design and components - and don't hold back I know some of this stuff is subjective so I'm not bothered if I get a few negative comments (within reason)... Its called the Base Urban FX 1.0.
