The best thing I have found to strip paint/powder coat off a frame is "gasket remover". It comes in an aerosol, can get it from most auto shops. Its normally used for removing gasket left overs on engine seals. Its not thick like paint stripper etc and looks like it will do sweet FA, but spray it on, and the paint literally falls off.

Did a quick search didnt come up with anything so posting in this slightly related thread. I have a pair of specialised body geometry road shoes. Currently using time atac aliums but walking even a few meters with exposed cleats is worse than I thought! Wanting to know if these shimano cleat pontoons will work with my shoes/pedals. They are the only cleat pontoon I could find anywhere on the net...Just wanting to make the shoes a bit more friendly to walk in. Link to the cleat pontoons below.

Hey guys. Got a problem with my sugino cog. As I'm sure some of you know the sugino cogs dont thread directly onto the hub like most cogs, instead there is an adapter that threads onto the hub and the cog then fits onto the adapter and then a lockring. The lockring uses an external bottom bracket tool to remove/install aswell as the adapter. When I tried removing the adapter to replace the cog with a new dura ace one, the adapter began to loosen but then becomes tight again after about half a turn. I took the wheel to a few bike shops and they all said that its 'threaded'. I'm not sure how to go about removing the adapter as I dont want to damage the hub as it will ruin the whole wheel basically. Have been turning it the right way also. Have just tightened it up and put the lockring back on so I can use the wheel.
Cant reverse rotafix either as the cog just comes off the adapter when the lockring is removed... Any ideas how to fix this?
