Morning all,
Does anyone know where there might be a live screening pref around East London today? Don't got no telly. Watched the other day with RAI full screen and muted and (possibly) virus laden Eurosport blocked window with commentary loud. Synced pretty well but even sat at home alone, I'm embarrassed by my small laptop screens effort.

Thanks, I haven't tried that but it has been suggested. It's currently in the shop awaiting a proper look - there are doubts as to whether it will even come out and the consensus seems to be that the bearings on both side are probably fucked anyway. Will hopefully know more tomorrow - there is the chance that it's not a French thread but that's a very slim chance indeed!
The bike is about 50-60 years old, I've been riding it solidly for 2 years, let's say an average of 30 miles a week. It's battered but the weight of it has given me tuff thighs.

Hello,
I am posting in search of an elusive French cottered BB. I have looked on ebay/campyoldy/velobase etc.. with no luck.
I realise this is probably a doomed quest if not expensive so would also consider an entirely different BB and chainset/cranks etc... which would mean that the BB need not be cottered.
Just to say, I will never buy another old French bicycle ever again.

I go into a store and 80% of the time there's someone who has just had a puncture.
Then I hear the shop say "leave the bike and get it back in 24 hrs or whatever, and it'll cost £XXX."
I see their little face crushed, and the furrow as they determine how to get home/work and then back to the shop. Each time I think of saying "buy a tube, step aside and give me 5 mins". Then I think, "I'm late, can't stop and help."
1. Mega-express puncture service - if you have the capacity. I'm sure those who wouldn't know how to, would pay a premium price. Ignorance is bliss...
This seems like it ought to be a standard procedure for any indie shop - 'my' go to shop as it's on my commute is East Central Cycles on Exmouth Market and they are like an F1 pit stop for punctures. I've never seen turnaround like it. It is my mission to change a tube as quickly.
Good luck with yr shop!
