--- FRAME NOW SOLD ---
For Sale: Dolan Track Champion frame, 58cm in White. The frame was bought directly from Dolan recently (about 4 weeks ago). It's seen very little use, a little on the road (maybe 30 miles in total), and if there's any marks on it that stop it from qualifying as 'mint', I can't see them. I had a bit of a change around of my bike recently, and being the fickle idiot I am, I've decided to go back to a geared roadie. The frame comes with an Alpina integral headset. Please note that it's just the frame and headset for sale here. The picture of the full build is just for illustration purposes. (forks, bar and stem in the other pic aren't included). Also for sale is a pair of Pista Navigator street wheels, clinchers, (the ones with a braking surface), bought at the same time as the frame, directly from Dolan. The rear wheel has seen as much use as the frame, and the front has not been fitted at all, so again, both are in mint condition. The rear wheel includes a 16T fixed sprocket and I can include a shimano 16t freewheel sprocket also if you'd be interested, since it's already attached to the other side of the hub.
I'm looking for £ 65 ovnoI'm looking for buyers to collect from mine in South East London (near Camberwell, nearest tube Oval). Sorry, I'm not willing to post anything.
If there are some details here that I've failed to include, please don't hesitate to ask.

Flat pedals is an odd choice on such a bike to
yeah, I usually run eggbeater pedals, but in the interest of keeping things safe over the winter months, swapped out for flats for the time being. The weather's starting to get good again now, so the eggbeaters will be back on soon!
Out of interest when was the last time you inspected your brake cable for fraying in your Condor?
I actually replaced the cable a couple of months ago, inner and outer, and check it pretty regularly. But yeah, I see what you're saying about about putting so much reliance on one cable. And that guy's story is pretty nightmarish! Still, when the track / fixed setup is on the go, I guess it'llbe hella stopping power in comparison.

haha... ok. Well, I figure there's a bit of an overhaul for the bike on the horizon (see above comment about track frame) so with the track frame setup, this will mean going fixed, so once that's done, the one brake up front ought to cut it.
Still (and this is probably a totally noob question. I am a noob afterall.) Why would people be so adamant to run 2 x brakes on a freewheel bike. I've been riding this setup for over 4 years, and always felt like I've had plenty of stopping power.

Hi everyone!
I'm Thom. Been living in Camberwell, London for a about 7 years, and cycling in London pretty much the whole time. I guess trial bike riding has always been something I'm very into, but lately been more and more into the roadie side of life. I typically commute, but it'd be cool to attend a ride here and there too! -
I know this thread is dead old, but as a something of a Camberwell vet, I thought I'd share my experiences.
I've had positive and negative experiences at Edwardes. The staff seem to range from pretty stand-offish to very helpful. The owner guy (poss called Gary?) seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder. When I enquired about them fitting some parts I got 2nd hand elsewhere, he didn't seem so impressed that I hadn't bought parts from there - despite the fact that I was providing business for the workshop.
That said, another member of staff was a great help, very chatty, and outside the boss' earshot, told me what a bargain I'd got on said part on ebay.On the flipside, on of the great things about Edwardes is that they seem to be happy to work metal. Another bike of mine (trial bike) had stripped brake threads on the frame, and they did a perfect job of helicoiling it all, for a very good price.
I'm not familiar with their roadies / fixie stock, but I'm thinking of getting a new track frame, so might call in this weekend for a browse.
frame now sold. Wheels still available. The price includes the shimano 16t freewheel sprocket
